During a recent concert at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania on August 23, Brad Arnold, the lead singer of 3 Doors Down, took a heartfelt moment to share his Christian faith with thousands of fans.
The band, widely recognized for their 2000 hit song "Kryptonite," paused their performance to deliver this uplifting message, as first reported by PennLive.
Arnold introduced the song "Away From the Sun" by explaining its personal significance. "I feel like I can identify with this song more than most of our songs," he began. "This world surrounds us with a message that we’ll never be good enough, we’ll never be strong enough, we’ll never be beautiful enough, we’ll never be rich enough. Social media surrounds us with those messages all the time. It’s driven down our throats every day, that we’ll never be good enough and that nobody really, really loves us."
"My friends, I just want to take a second to tell you, that's an absolute lie," Arnold continued. "You are loved. You are enough, and you will win. Not only can you win, but you will win. You’ll always be enough for one reason. And that’s because Jesus Christ loves you." His words resonated with many in the audience, who responded with cheers and applause.
Wearing a shirt emblazoned with 'Yeshua,' the Hebrew word for Jesus, Arnold added, "Jesus Christ loves you so much that He made you just the way you are, just the way you’re standing there right now. He also loves you to let you know that you’re not complete. I promise you there’s more, and you will win. I failed all day today. You failed today. But you’re still the one that Jesus loves."
Arnold then led the crowd in a powerful chant, "I am the one that Jesus loves," creating a moment of unity and collective affirmation. "Amen, my friends. Thank you so much," he concluded, expressing his gratitude to the audience. This touching display of faith and vulnerability during the concert highlighted a different side of the rock band and left a lasting impact on the fans who were present.
As of January 19, 2024, Brad Arnold has been sober for eight years, an achievement he credits to his Christian faith. "I feel like a different person than I did eight years ago ... and it feels so good," Arnold shared on social media. "Without question, God took that burden from me. I was so tired of carrying it. I couldn’t carry it anymore so I gave it to God and I’m not taking it back! If you’re struggling with something, give it to Him. He’ll gladly take your burden and you’ll never have to carry it again."
According to CBN, this isn't the first time Arnold has been open about his faith on stage. He is also outspoken about his beliefs on social media, where he sometimes reposts Bible verses. The concert's message of faith and love was a powerful reminder to the audience that despite the negativity and pressures of the world, they are loved and valued just as they are.
